The power of purpose also means we are dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve. Through CM CARES™, the Church Mutual Insurance Company foundation, we provided financial support to organizations across the country that strengthen communities and improve lives.
The Religious Scholars Program
CM CARES awarded 50 scholarships totaling $250,000 to support the education of future religious leaders, who will go on to serve others.
“You are truly making a difference in the world — especially in my life.”

Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College
Diversity and inclusion is a corporate pillar at Church Mutual. When we learned about the restoration of a chapel that memorializes one of our country’s leading civil rights figures, CM CARES made a $250,000 contribution to support the renovation.
CM CARES was the presenting sponsor of this four-day, faith-based music festival that celebrates spirituality and community, much like Church Mutual. The event welcomes guests of all beliefs to enjoy music in an uplifting and family friendly atmosphere.
Through CM CARES, Church Mutual has entered a three-year exclusive athletic sponsorship of Liberty University. Liberty is a prominent educator of future religious leaders, and our donation helps ensure a bright future for students who will grow to serve others.
Making a positive impact
In addition to gifts given through our foundation, we’re living our mission each and every day by giving back to our communities, locally and nationwide.
Daib and Fehland Founders Garden
Church Mutual employees contributed their time and gardening skills in the newly established community garden, a project that supplies fresh produce to local food pantries, as well as Church Mutual families.
Employees receive up to one full day of paid time off each year to volunteer for a cause that is dear to their hearts. In 2017, 318 employees served more than 1,675 hours.
CM Regent Day of Caring
On September’s annual United Way Day of Caring, CM Regent employees helped churches with upkeep projects, prepared fundraiser mailings and sorted donations for the homeless in the Tri-County Area in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
CM Solutions sock drive
Led by CM Solutions, home office team members collected more than 300 pairs of socks for the homeless living in Chicago. The socks, as well as sack lunches, were delivered delivered by a CMIC policyholder.
Through a variety of fundraisers, our employees donated more than $120,000 to local, regional and national charities.
